What is the AOP Showcase?
The AOP Business and Industry Showcase is an event that brings all eighth graders and seniors from Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties to the Anderson County Civic Center to explore industries and businesses in the area.
All eighth-grade students are required to complete an Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP) during their eighth-grade school year. By attending the AOP Showcase, students are given an opportunity to learn about the different career clusters and opportunities that are available to them when they graduate. Students meet industry leaders and learn about that industry and what it takes to work there. Many industries have hands-on displays to allow students to experience some of the technology, machines, and tools that are used daily in that job.
As a senior, students are ready to take the next step in their journey, whether that be college, technical schools, or straight into the workforce. The AOP Showcase allows the seniors in the AOP region to visit each industry and business they are interested in and hopefully make meaningful connections that could lead to a future job.
The AOP Business and Industry Showcase brings the students and employers together to impact the future workforce in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties.
